Just bought an 11 Pro on Friday. I went to the verizon store yesterday to activate the sim that was inside the new phone, but do I even need a sim anymore? Doesn't iPhone 11 have esim? Does this work with verizon and if so is there a benefit to using esim as opposed to a physical sim?

Cheers!

Yes, you can. Device will download the eSIM profile with your wireless plan. You may noticed slightly increased speed and reception reported by some users. You can use the physical SIM for travel if the device is unlocked.

I wonder how true the slightly increased speed and reception is. I’m going to call Verizon today to switch from physical sim to esim.

Could that just be T-Mobile have better signal there and Verizon doesn’t. A better comparison will be on the same network.

I bought my 11 pro Max unlocked and activated esim using Verizon. Works fine! I like my reception
