Never had the 13 current 11 11 10.5 etc.. Is 13 too big. I’m actually considering moving up to that size. I use my iPad all the time.

Have the 11 pro 2024 current , thinking of going to 13 air ..down in some specs and up in some, ram, screen size etc.. but screen not as good.

I’m an artist, and since 2018, I have always felt the 11” iPad Pro is the perfect size tablet. For me, tablets were meant to be held, and in that regard, the 11” is perfect. Not too big. Not too small. I also have an iPad mini 7 for when I really wanna travel light. To me it’s the perfect size digital sketchbook when on the go for quick doodles. Now I want to add a 13” iPad Air to the collection for those times I crave a slightly larger drawing area. The 11” iPad Pro will always be my main content creation & media consumption device… so that is why I decided to go with the 13” iPad Air & not the 13” iPad Pro to save some $. Plus with 12gb of ram the M4 iPad Air has as much memory now as the base iPad Pros. 👍🏼 I know some may say 3 iPads is overkill, but I don’t own a laptop or computer anymore. I do everything on iPads. And traditional artists usually have multiple sized paper sketchbooks… so i don’t think having 3 different sized iPads is too much. 😉

I have the 13" Pro and since moving up to that size, I'll never buy a smaller one. I like the large display.
I used to have an 11 pro (2020 version) and later a mini. I happened to get an m4 on a super great deal once and I couldn’t believe how much I loved it. I use it for iPad things like reading, browsing, watching tv. And the form factor makes it amazing even for those things. I sold my mini shortly after.

I used to think the 13" was better for me. I had a 11" 2018, 13" 2020, 13" M1, and finally moved back down to a 11" M4. It's good for a lot of things, especially as a laptop replacement.

I downsized to the 11" so I can bring it more places, lighter weight and smaller form factor. It's easier to throw in my bag and go. I also use it a lot more as a tablet. My old 13" were in the keyboard 100% of the time.

If you don't want to use it as a laptop replacement (how I use my 13" iPad with MK and Pencil), and you don't want to use it as a phone replacement (how I use my iPad Mini at home, always with me and my most used device), then 11" might be the best iPad size for you.

Only device? 13
If you have a laptop? 11
Would agree with that..I have 2 laptops so really use my 11 as tablet but do use it a lot…decided to stay at 11 and that was one of the reasons..just get spur of the moment sometime and want to waste money..it’s calm now and staying with 11 pro till next pro comes out

Yep, my 13" 1TB M5 with MKB has replaced my laptop (i7 16GB Surface Pro 7). Can't remember the last time I used it (I also have a desktop). I also regularly use the iPad in tablet mode, away from the MKB - I don't find it to be too large.

I use my iPad purely as a tablet. No keyboard, and held in my hands. It’s a device that supplements my main computer, not replaces it.
As such, I think that 13” would be too cumbersome. I’ve even considered going back to a mini at times. (my first iPad was a Mini 4)

When my Mini 7 died on me I had this same debate, and handled both sizes numerous times before settling on the 11" Air. The 13" just seemed too big for me, especially given my iPad's primary function is as an ebook reading device.

From 2018 iPP 13” to a M4 11” for better usability in tablet mode. Don’t complain it while using with MK, at least for my needs.

Tried the 11” but it was too small for some things and too big for others. Sold it and settled for the 13” M4 Pro and an iPad mini 6 which I hope to upgrade to the 8 mini. Instead of the MKB I opted for the Satechi X1 BT keyboard and Magic Mouse so the 13” can be placed wherever suitable and it can also be used purely as a tablet with the Pencil.

I also keep a fully maxed M1 MBA for the rare times its needed for heavy lifting but otherwise the iPad setup works pretty much all the time.

Edit: spelling

I have an M4 Pro 13" and it is my mobile device of choice, owned an 11 earlier but, found it too small for the few times I needed to look at spreadsheets etc.

For me, after going to store and playing with the 13 for a while, no way would I have that as my day to day and get the 13 for the occasional “nice to “ scenario….11 pro is the sweet spot for all the use I have for my tablet…thanks for the replies

11“ is the perfect middle ground between the rather small Mini and the pretty bulky 13“. But I have a 16“ MBP, too.

I got the 13" M4 ipad now and before that (~5 years) I had ordered both the 11" and 13" together to try out.

Picked up the 13" at that time, screen was amazing and all that (non OLED at the time ofc) but then I walked upstairs and such and played 1/2 games with it (not a 1handed machine) and decided 13" is too big and bulky and bought the 11" iPad.

Since that time I now live on my own and live on 1 floor appartment. I also don't really use my iPad much for games anymore. Just content consumption. So when the oled 13" came about I decided now was finally a good time to upgrade again. I did go for a 13" iPad this time around and am very glad I did.
My 13" now is obviously heavier then my 11" which I bought then but its also lighter again then the 13" from then.
