It's only been 48 hours since I picked up the iPad 2 and I've already spent nearly $200 on apps and books, and I haven't even looked at movies or music yet. Then another $100 or so on iPad accessories.

How can Steve be all the way down at 110 on the richest man in the world list. Is this normal or am I just an app whore  Come on now how much of your money's gone into Apples coffers this week not including your iPad.

Yikes that's a lot of money! Once my local Best Buy restocks, I hope to fill mine with free games and books from iTunes.

ive yet to spend money on an app. plenty of free stuff im still sorting through.

the OP is just having a little fun.
We've all been there! If I had even half the funds back on semi-worthless apps and multiple cases I've purchased over the years for the iPhone and iPad we all could raise our glasses and I'd have no problem picking up the tab at the end of the evening.

Guys, don't be afraid to pay for an app. A lot of new iPad owners will start out just downloading free apps. There's nothing wrong with that, but there are hundreds of excellent apps that only cost a little bit of $$$ that really unlock the potential of the iPad. To sort through the maze of apps, check out web sites like App Shopper. Enjoy!

It's not a commodity the whole world buys. He sold 15 million iPads in 9 months, and there are 7 billion people in the world. So one-fifth of one percent people in the world have an iPad. Its not oil, not an investment firm, not Microsoft. It's just a luxury.

Angry Birds is not free.....I am addicted to it, and contemplating whether to pay for the app. I am at level where if I don't pay, I can't go to the next level.:mad:

IIRC, steve jobs only gets paid $1 a year by apple and that is so he can be considered as an employee. he makes his money in stocks.

accessories and apps pay the people who make those and apple gets a cut. what i mean as apple is the company as a whole from the janitor to the engineers.

Lol that's silly! I haven't put any apps on mine yet but I can't afford to spend that much. I need some free apps.
You could afford an iPad though right?! I don't get why some people are so tight about spending money on apps. If you can afford an iPad why would you not want to spend a few £££/$$$ more to get the best out of it? let's face it - while there are some great free apps, the majority of the best (most useful/fun/whatever) need to be paid for - and that is what drives the App scene forwards in any case.

Agreed. You're missing out bigtime if you only use free apps.

I'm up to about.. 65 dollars in apps.

Biggest price hogs: MLB at Bat $15, Real Racing 2 $10, Air Display $10, and then a lot of on sale and budget programs. Splashtop is awesome.
