Figure that, unless it becomes active enough to warrant doing so, one thread for OC should be fine.

We've got South Coast, Irvine, and Brea, maybe another one I'm forgetting.

Anyway, for those going to the store on Friday, this seems like a good place to post line lengths and poke around to meet up with fellow MR members.

I'll be going to the Brea Mall store around 3PM or so.

For the South County folks:

-- Fashion Island
-- Shops @ Mission Viejo

For the 1st gen iPad launch at Brea Mall, I arrived about 3 hours early, and there were approximately 100 people in line ahead of me.

I'll be hitting Brea about 4 hours early with my iPad and catching up on some reading. Maybe a game of Infinity Blade or two. I'm hoping that the InvisibleShield kiosk outside the Apple Store will have iPad2 specific screen shields in stock on day 1. I just want the lady to work on a few iPad 2s before she tackles mine to build up some experience.

my problem is that i have to be at work at 6:30p, meaning i have to be out of the store (brea) by six. i might have to go early in the morning for this one.

Heads up to anyone planning to go to south coast, mall security isn't allowing anyone to line up before the store opens .

What do you all think about trying a Best Buy, Walmart, Target or AT&T location? Seems to me that lines will be longer at Apple stores. Cannot believe online ship time is 2-3 weeks. I should have called that.

Line at Brea Mall is to Macy's, probably about 150-200 people here.

Any idea how fast these lines move? This'll be the first time I've camped out for a product.

Wow, that is pretty crazy. I didn't think there would be long lines like this.

Once the line starts moving, it should move fairly quickly. All hands will be on deck at Apple and hopefully people have figured out which version they're purchasing in line.

Wow, 150 people at Brea? That's nuts. I got mine at South Coast last year but that was a month after release.

Not really sure where I'm going yet. I think I may try Cerritos or a Best Buy...

Seriously that many people at Brea already? Wow... I work at 6... looks like I wont be getting one.

I'll check out the lines around 4. I'm not waiting for more than an hour. If I can't get one today I'll be putting off my purchase for awhile.

I believe limit is two per person

Brea Mall update:

Two employees came by about 10 minutes ago. They were counting the line, I am #204. line is at ~250-300, and they cannot guarantee stock for anyone just now getting here. For those who do come, I'm wearing a vintage Apple Mission Impossible shirt and am across from red robin.

can anyone update me on spectrum? i might just go to south coast's (or metro point's) best buy if the line is ridiculous

btw do the ATT stores carry the wifi-only ipad 2 as well? that'd save me a lot of time haha

I am at the Fullerton best buy and there are 4 people in line total. This is your best bet probably in orange county

Also ATT stores only carry 3G version
