Finally, I scored a white AT&T 64GB iPad 2 after three futile attempts, including one on launch day at Brea. Target Tracker was successful for me. Sunday morning (3/20) at around 2am, I noticed that the closest store to me was showing inventory, in this case, Orange/Tustin. I headed over immediately, with a chair, blanket, and original iPad for entertainment/reading material.
I waited 6 hours, during which time 50 or 60 cars drove right up to the Target, drivers stared (or in some cases, glared) at me, and drove away. When the manager arrived, I struck up a conversation, explaining my reason for camping out and my certainty that they had an iPad waiting. She said that they would have the iPad up front and waiting for me when the store opened at 8am.
At 7:55, this fat f_ck strides up next to me and doesn't say a word. When they open the doors, he shoves me out of the way with his shoulder and starts running towards the electronics section. The manager walks up to me and tells me that my iPad is waiting at the customer service desk. I purchase the iPad, and start walking out to my car. Fat bast_rd walks out of the Target looking seriously miffed. I look over at him and pull the iPad2 out of the bag and give it a triumphal shake.
I wish I could've caught his scowl on the iPad2 rear camera. Priceless!
