A bug crawled into my macbook pro screen, somehow. I didn't want to risk squishing him, so I left him alone.

Problem is, he died today. RIP. Bigger problem is the fact he's in the middle of my screen.

My laptop is under guaranty.

Will Apple get him out, free of charge?

EDIT. Pics below

Yes. Dust dirt bugs should not be able to get into a factory sealed screen.

If it isn't under warranty, how much would it cost to fix my bug?

Would they open it and clean it, change the glass part, or change the whole upper section of the laptop?

Wow. Definitely not the kind of bug I thought I'd be reading about.

I can't imagine Apple would consider your screen to be sealed properly if a bug can get inside. Unless of course it got in there during production, which would still be a valid complaint of course.

Definitely take it to Apple, if it's within warranty I can't imagine there'd be a problem getting it removed.

Agreed with poster above me. This made me laugh. I doubt they will even raise an eyebrow... just show it to them and get the exchange.

Pics, sorry for the poor quality.

Let us know what apple said about it..
If it was under warranty or not, and what they have done to solve the problem...

I'm bringing in my machine as soon as possible, will report back.

I'm a bit nervous about the price of the fix, if it's not under warranty.

Exactly the same problem here. Really annoyed a few days ago when a thunderbug got into my 22" Benq screen (I plug it into my MacBook along with a keyboard). 'Oh well' I thought, at least none will get into the sealed MacBook screen. How wrong I was. So annoying! Especially as mine's way out of warranty.

Let us know if you have any luck with Apple.

!!!
Is this person's prophecy coming true?!
(Posted on one of my Youtube videos)

" r the best !!

never going back to windows... ever !

owner of a MacBook Pro forever !!

never gona throw it away, even if it gets contaminated by little radioactive bugs =P"

Lol.

An Update

I took the Mac to the Authorized Repair Center, they said they had to check with Apple regarding repairing under warranty, as there are small dings on 2 corners of the screen chassis.

Apple refused to repair under warranty.

Without having to buy a new screen, what are my options?
