Who's Using The Inverted Scroll?

I don't know about you guys but I've got used to scrolling like the iPad on my brand new base 13" MBA.

It only took me 3 tries to scroll inverted naturally.

Who's with me?

It's taken me a couple days but I now have "natural scrolling" enabled on both my machines (MBP, MBA)...once I realized that it scrolls like my iPad2, it came a little quicker to me as long as I keep my eye on the page and not the scroll bars...LOL

EDIT: I neglected to mention, I use a Magic Mouse which DOES make it easier than a normal or wheeled mouse...

I am. Not to mention I'm still using regular scrolling on my snow leopard MacBook.

It's just a matter of time...
 
I use the new "natural" scrolling. Also, it might do you some good to search before posting, this is the third or so topic on this now 🙂.
 
For me it's easy. Of course my muscle memory still do it wrong from time to time but that's ok.

I was "scared" was that my wife would complain too much. But actually she said: that's much easier now. She's not very computer-affine but a Twitter junkie 🙄
 
Yes, I learned it, but I'm not using it.

The natural scroll makes no sense with a cursor to move on the screen as well.

If your trying to move a cursor down the page, say to a link at the bottom, you have to push two fingers up, and then do one finger down.

It doesn't change the arrow keys, you still push down to go down the page.

It's not meant to switch everything. I use my iPad and iPhone the times I'm not using my MBP, it makes all my navigation the same on all devices.
 
Yeah, I've had no real problem adjusting to the new scrolling. It took maybe a day or two to get adjusted, but I like it just fine. Seems like lots of people hate it though. Oh well.

I'm using it now...The odd thing is...reg scrolling is actually the inverted method...we've just been used to working backwards.
 
I tried it, was fine with it but realized I prefer normal scrolling. My issue I guess, is that I don't envision the page moving, but rather the scroll bar moving. Therefore for me it's more natural to be moving the scroll bar down.

I am with you. But it did not take me 3 tries though......it was my first 😛
 
hated it.. love it now

I started trying it yesterday when I got a magic trackpad for my iMac.. I was struggling with it when I had my magic mouse because it was more difficult retrain my muscle memory when my mouse felt so much like my mouse at work (windows xp) .. as soon as i started using the trackpad, it felt just like using my iPad 2 and it really does feel natural...

My only problem is that when I got to work today, i tried to scroll "naturally" on my windows pc! spent half the morning googling how to invert mouse wheel scrolling on windows xp haha!
 
for me its funny but if i think about how to scroll i mess it up and do it the "normal way" however if I just start scrolling and dont think i do it the "natural" way. my darn brain keeps getting in the way of apples less complicated way to scroll
 
I really wanted to use the new ["natural"] scroll -- but ended up switching back -- not because I don't like it, but because it differs from the behavior of the PC which I am forced to use at work, and I was spending an hour each morning and each afternoon re-learning which direction the scroll wheel worked...
 
@Spidey3 same with me, I have to use the college computers (windows and snow leopard) and I cannot be bothered with re-learning the correct scroll behavior every day.
 
Depends on perception and mouse

"Natural scrolling" may seem natural if you use the magic mouse but if you use a third party mouse with a wheel it is not. In that case the perception is that the wheel is suspended above above a sheet of paper. Move the wheel down and of course the paper moves up. So to me which is natural may depend more on what type of mouse you use. Thankfully Lion lets you reverse this feature.

in a somewhat related mode, Mission Control seems to have made some Logitech button commands non-functional. In particular, I used to press the wheel to bring up Expose. Hopefully Logitech will upgrade their drivers and System Preferences add-on soon.
 
I installed Lion in the morning, when I got home from work my wife had already disabled it 🙂 Might give it a try later on but there isn't really any benefit in using either way so go with what you prefer (or what your wife prefers).
 
Have been using it since Wednesday and getting used to it. My wife switched back, but maybe she will see the light. We have two MacBooks, two touches and one iPad 1.
 
i got used to it on the trackpad but i also use a logitech mouse. until i can independently set the trackpad to natural and the mouse to "normal", im going to keep it normal. i have to work with PCs daily at school and don't need the confusion switching back and forth.
