Used it since I upgraded on thurs, still getting mixed up, but slowly getting the hang of it (old habits). Makes perfect sense though, so I'm all for it!

I not going to use the "Natural scrolling" because I need to use both mac and Windows PC, and want to keep continuity on user input between machines.

I liked it until I realised that activating natural scroll switches the direction of swiping 'back' and 'forward' in Safari.

To me it really feels wrong to swipe right/in the direction one writes to go back. Swiping left feels much more natural (and matches the two forward/back arrows in the toolbar).

Just like with the natural scrolling, it's not about going up or down. It's about moving the content.

Move fingers down to move the content down; move fingers up to move the content up.

The same with Safari's history: move a page to the right (off the stack) to see which page is underneath (previous history item); move the page back onto the stack (swipe it from right to left, back to the stack) to see that page again.

I am and got use to it. I have been using iPhone and iPad since day one so it was not long to like it. The only problem would be if you use multiple computer and don't have lion on all of them it gets confusing.

Not me. My Windows XP machine at work and my two Windows 7 machines at home scroll normally. Therefore my MBP Lion and my (soon to be SL) MP Lion shall scroll normally. One scrolling direction in the world is just fine. Pushing a page up and down with your finger on an iPhone and scrolling a page up and down with a mouse wheel are two different actions.

I really wanted to use the new ["natural"] scroll -- but ended up switching back -- not because I don't like it, but because it differs from the behavior of the PC which I am forced to use at work, and I was spending an hour each morning and each afternoon re-learning which direction the scroll wheel worked...

Anyone who owns an iPad or iPhone is already experienced at doing both with finger swipes, and readily switches between them several times a day.

But with a scroll-wheel, it's not quite the same I guess. I think there's an option in System Preferences to selectively reverse scrolling on a trackpad, but leave mouse wheels the way they were.

I wished I could plus one your answer ten times! I feel the same way and even discussed it with friends who agree that swiping in the direction that coincides with the arrows on the toolbar is much more 'natural'

Natural scrolling seems to be fairly easy to adapt to, but I leave it off--I bounce between Windows and Mac at work, and I don't want to be totally confused when I switch between one and the other. Remembering keyboard shortcuts on Windows is bad enough...

I've gotten very used to it. I find it awkward scrolling the older (normal?) way because that's actually inverted.

Exactly. When I got on lion, I switched it back to normal...but I thought about it, I was like, wait..."natural" is actually correct. We have been trained to think backwards for years! I switched it and now I'm using it in natural mode...and it makes more sense the traditional backwards method!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

Using magic trackpad and I know prefer it. Struggled a bit using an old white MacBook with the old style trackpad on it now though :)

It works as long as you are using a trackpad. It's absolutely useless when using a mouse but to my surprise feels pretty good on a trackpad when you get used to it.

I use the inverted scrolling. It took me and everyone else in my family less than a day for all of us to naturally do it.

What's *********g annoying is that when using a non-apple mouse and the selection for natural (inverted scrolling) it also inverts the mouse roller.

It doesn't change the arrow keys, you still push down to go down the page.

Michael

It's good the arrow keys stayed normal. Otherwise that would literally make no sense.

i got used to it on the trackpad but i also use a logitech mouse. until i can independently set the trackpad to natural and the mouse to "normal", im going to keep it normal. i have to work with PCs daily at school and don't need the confusion switching back and forth.

The mouse was a bit confusing at first but I've gotten used to it. Hope they implement it though since it's still more natural on most mouses to scroll the wheel down to go down. Only the trackpad works well inverted.

I don't know about you guys but I've got used to scrolling like the iPad on my brand new base 13" MBA.

It only took me 3 tries to scroll inverted naturally.

Who's with me?

Actually, i changed it back to the way it was. There is a reason down should be down and not up. That reason is called DEFAULT. There is no logical reason to change the name from inverse to 'natural'. There is nothing natural about it.

This came enabled in the developer previews. I hated it so much I hung up on a client and hunted down the option to turn it off. Every family member that has called me recently has asked "How do I fix my scrolling?"

It is a big problem with people see your new feature as a bug. :D
