I just updated my Apple TV 4 to 12.4.1 and all of a sudden I’m having issues with Netflix. The shows are not streaming in HD resolution or at least it’s taking a while to get there. Very frustrating. I didn’t have this issue before the update. My ATV is connected via Ethernet and I get 120Mbps down. I’ve restarted numerous times to no avail.

Anyone else seeing this? Any thoughts on resolving the issue are appreciated. Thanks.

My guess is that it’s a network issue and the timing with 12.4.1 is coincidental. Try rebooting the router.

Thanks. Done that a few times as well. It also happens when Netflix changes to the next episode. I have to stop the show and then swipe closed the Netflix app and restart the app. Most times it plays properly afterwards. But your probably right that it’s a coincidence.

I had a very similar issue with MacOS 10.15 Catalina. The solution was for me to upgrade the next beta version of Firefox, and that fixed it. Beta releases can be very frustrating.

Who's your ISP, Centurylink has been having DNS issues for a couple of weeks. That can be fixed by using Google Public DNS's; 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4. Check DownDetector.com and see what's going on with Netflix and your ISP. A lot of people are posting complaints about Netflix and you can check out the "Outage Map".

I have Spectrum. The speeds are fine. I’ve not had issues in the past. Maybe coincidence but all seemed to start after I updated to 12.4.1. So hard to pin point.

It's not internet related, imo. I have AT&T gigabit fiber. My ATV is hardwired, speed tests 900+ mbps. And I'm noticing lately that some Netflix shows are not displaying in 4K. I'm also on 12.4.1.

I've noticed some little stutters while watching Mindhunter. Hopefully tvOS 13 fixes some of these annoying issues that cropped up in 12.4.1.
