I'm keen to try ios11 on my gen1, but am not a developer. Have any non-developers tried it and can give their opinions?

I am seriously considering the 10.5 but it seems pointless without ios11 (as I have ios10 running already), so if I try it early that will give me some ideas if it really is going to make a difference.

Thanks!

I would strongly recommend against it, in my experience it's been very buggy with frequent springboard crashes. Wait until beta 2 at least.

Just wait and buy you 10.5 when 11 is released.

I did the beta stuff before and it was a pain in the butt.

Never again, not on anything I got to depend on.

If you can't stand the idea of owning a 10.5 without 11, wait.

I ran it on my 10.5" for two days before reverting. Actually found it to be pretty stable, no springboard crashes during that time, but other apps don't always play nicely, e.g. YouTube the search option disappears completely, some messaging apps lose the field you type into etc. If it's your main device and you rely on it then wait.

My 10.5 with iOS11 has been okay. I have had a few small issues with the dock not disappearing in Apps and not being able to see what I am typing sometimes because the keyboard sits over it.
