Hi

I am currently using the gold 12.9 and like it. The silver became available and I am really undecided as I am on the last day of my 14 day exchange at the Apple Store. My iPad Cover and leather sleeve are black of that matters. One advantage of the gold iPad is the home button is easier for me to see, with the gold accent ring. The screen is also very good, which is always an unknown if you change.

The question, on some level, relates to the upcoming iPhone 8. If I were to get the silver phone, would it look out of place with the gold iPad? My current 7 plus is matte black. I like the black iPhone, but it can be difficult to see on a dark surface. For my next phone, I am thinking about going back to white. I am so far not a fan of the copper and black, but that coujd change.

I remain fairly undecided on the iPad. If I did switch from gold to silver, would I need a new iPad sim or could they simply switch the sim that is in my current iPad ?

Why do people ask such silly questions. it's your phone and no one else's.

Never been a fan of the "white" bezel. All of my iPads and phones have "black" bezel. That restricts me to very few colors. If they put a "black" bezel on all colors, that would be nice. I also know that adds a bunch of SKU's though.

My 65-inch Panasonic Plasma TV also has a "black" bezel. Anything else is a bit disruptive to viewing. Just my thoughts on my preferences.

Well, since I use cases for ALL my iOS devices, the back color is kinda unimportant to me. I do prefer the white border on all my iOS devices tho. Prefer the way it makes the screen pop. So no black iOS devices for me. I got the gold iPod and the silver iPad mini. Both look cool without the case. If I got a MacBook, i'd definitely get the space grey. So I guess it's not important to me that all my devices "match". But others might like them to match. I dunno. Totally personal choice. As long as it works, it's all good .

I think having different colors makes it less boring! I have a gold Macbook, gold iPad 12.9, rose gold 9.7 pro, silver iPhone 7 Matte black iPhone 7 plus. (I may have a problem).

Space Gray.....not into the hipster white bezel......it's time for Apple to grow up a little.
I’m an adult with a solid career and I despise black bezels. Maybe people shouldn’t feel like their personal taste for something should be crystallised as a universal law by which all other tastes should be judged... every single of my iDevices are gold and white. I love how classy the subtle shad elf gold is, but to each their own. At least I don’t say that “Apple should have better taste and ONLY release white devices from now on”.
Peace, man.

I used to go all out for white bezel iPhones / iPad but i just got tired of it so i upgrated from an golden iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 to a black iPhone 7 Plus and iPad Pro. I have to say the front blends in a lot better. For some reason the Plus for example always looks a lot bigger to me, perception i guess.

But at the end of the day its everyones own taste so threads like these are kinda silly

ohh...touchy are we?.....
Never said 'my way' you are trying to put words in my mouth.

But since you brought it up, 'My way' would be to add black bezels across the line.
Which would not affect your choice at all however you seem to want to limit the options
for other people.

Might be time to rethink your position....

You’re the one that said “Apple should grow up” based on your taste of colour. Actually, if Apple had better taste they’d get rid of the Black option, instead. Johnny Ive uses a white iPhone - that says a lot about what a real designer prefers, btw.

Your specific viewpoints are a generalization and do not classify to everybody. And I'm fairly confident Apple isn't concerned with one opinion about somebody that disapproves of a white bezel. And For the record, I appreciate both white and black bezels. So I am not biased one way or the other.

Rose Gold!
Yes rose gold is the only acceptable colour. However the 12.9 doesn't come in rose gold.

On that note I'd say gold.

I only purchased the 10.5 because the 12.9 isn't available in Rose Gold.
I wouldn't say I didn't purchase the 12.9 because you can't get it in rose gold but being able to get the 10.5 in rose gold certainly influenced my decision lol

I've had a beautiful stealth iPhone 5. Actually I believe both should be available. I was just exaggerating when I said they should only make the white bezel in response to that angry post saying Apple should stop producing white fronts (and, worse, associating white or black bezel color to being “grown up”... oh dear...).

And my iPhone 4s is Metallic Violett, even the front bezels. :) Did you maybe buy it from eBay or anywhere else non-official as refurbished/used where someone replaced the casing?

Edit:

I purchased it from this guy who did something similar with a 5s now:

Bought it from Apple...

Whichever appeals more to you. Personally, I don't worry much about the back color, though I do prefer a white bezel. Not necessarily for aesthetic reasons, but for practical ones: I use mostly light-themed apps, browse a lot, write a lot. The white bezel is much easier on the eyes for me. If I mostly watched movies or worked in a dark room, or at night, I'd prefer a black bezel. So for me, the bezel choice is mostly a matter of how I use a device.

Anyway, my iPad Pro is gold with a white bezel. I would have been happy with the silver one also, but gold was available and so I went with that (my Air 2 is silver/white).
