12.9 inch iPad Pro extra sensors?

I just noticed on my 12.9 inch iPad Pro 2017 on the top with the front camera there are two sensors or something on the left and right side. What are these? For auto-adjusting the brightness and True Tone?

True Tone sensors. There should be another two near the home button, if I recall correctly.

I am surprised I never noticed them before! I guess I just had light hit at the right angle this time.
