I've had this happen the last two days. I'll put my iPad with the Smart Keyboard in the leather sleeve and after maybe 5 minutes is starts making this strange electronic feedback loop type sound. If I pull it out, the sound stops, also doesn't seem to occur when the keyboard isn't attached.

Anyone else having this problem? It sounds pretty bad, first time I heard it, it was near my desktop and I thought a hard drive was failing.

I’ve read where the play button on the Logitech keyboard gets pressed while in a sleeve or case, but not one with the ASK.

I was sort of thinking it was something like that, but then the ASK disconnects when folded flat.
It's something to do with the pressure exerted by the sleeve for sure though.

I've had a similar problem once, although it sounds as if the cause is different. My iPP 12.9 with ASK started making a "strange electronic feedback loop type sound" , as you put it. It sounded rather like my fridge alarm. But when I opened the ASK, I found that the screen was also flashing wildly, and the iPad was not responding. It seemed to have something to do with a Reminder alarm. The only way I could stop it was to restart the device. It hasn't happened again since, so I don't think it had anything to do with the ASK in my case.

Sorry for the off topic comment. I read somewhere that the Logitech keyboard got a firmware update or something that stopped the play button from turning on. I can't remember where I read it though. I was concerned about that issue before I purchased mine. I've not had any issues with the with the play button getting pressed. Case adds weight but really does function great.

On topic.. I also have the ASK and haven't had any issues with mine making noise in the sleeve. I would recommend the OP record the issue on his phone and show it to Apple.

I contacted Apple support and the asked me to take it in for inspection.

Great idea on recording it, I'll do that next time it happens and then take it in.

[doublepost=1504262704][/doublepost]I had purchased the 12.9" first gen IPad Pro with the ASK and it did the exact same thing you are describing. It wasn't in a case just it was just sitting on the table closed up. It got to where it was doing it 90% of the time I set it down. It also required a reset to stop the loop. I Took back the IPad Pro and keyboard to apple and they just replaced both items. I've since purchased the current generation IPad Pro and I have only had this issue one time. It may have something to do with the keyboard connection or maybe the magnetic sensors for turning off the IPad. Either way the Apple Store said they had never heard of this before. Sounds like a more prevalent issue may be brewing.

Thankfully I haven't had it happen again, but then I'm not using the sleeve as much either. My current theory is it might depend on which way it goes in the case. I was charging it in the case, and doing that puts all the buttons tightly inside at the bottom. I've only put the iPad in buttons up since then and it hasn't happened.

Not a good solution since it would be nice to charge the iPad in the sleeve, with the keyboard.

The thought of it happening outside the sleeve is borderline terrifying. Glad they got took care of it for you in the end.
