Hey, i just received my 12.9 Magic Keyboard for my 2020 iPad Pro, it’s amazing!

However, one thing i noticed was how hard and how much force is required for me to remove the iPad from the magnetic force holding it in place. I have to hold down the keyboard and pry the iPad off. It feels like i will bend the iPad taking it off.

In the videos it always seemed one handed and effortless, am i missing something?

Mine comes off very easy from the bottom of the iPad, easy to do with one hand. By bottom I mean the side of the iPad closest to the keys on the keyboard.

Interesting.. Mine comes off with ease, no force or anything required.. Maybe it's just a tad more secured than you had expected. :)

If i lift on the bottom corner of my ipad the entire magic keyboard case lifts up and comes along for the ride with it :)

i have to hold the keyboard down above the number row and then lift off.

Not complaining, this keyboard is amazing,

I also have to hold down the keyboard as I lift up the iPad away from it. I’m curious how it’s possible

yea the magnets are really strong, find it hard to pull off at times but guess thats a good thing since dont want it falling off as well.

Try pulling the iPad from the bottom edge (close to the keyboard) slightly towards you and in an upward arc in a fairly quick movement. You kind of need to create a “snap” effect to break the bond of the magnets. If you do it too slowly, the iPad and keyboard will stick together, as you’ve experienced. Once you figure out what the magnetic bond breaking point is, it will be second nature for getting it to easily come off (like in the videos).

i'd rather have it hard to remove than the other way around

This. I never liked anyone trying/holding my 2018 11" iPad Pro because people who didn't own one didn't realize that the magnets holding it into the Smart Keyboard Folio were fairly weak and it could slide right out and on to the floor very easily if you don't know that already. The Magic Keyboard looks like it makes it very hard for something like that to occur.

I’m very happy with how strong the magnets are with holding a device that cost me over 1k. :)

It’s scary how well this thing stays on (11 inch). I spent a good 5 minutes Swinging The keyboard around over my bed, trying to get it to fall off Lol.
