Update...I picked one up yesterday seeing that they were 100 bucks off....I get to play with it for a week or two before the wife confiscates for Christmas but I wanted to see if I like it before the 2 weeks trial is up.

As of now I am really enjoying it. It is much easier to hold than I thought it would be. The software I use for the stats I will be able to do a split screen so that is a plus. I have ordered an otter box symmetry that I found on amazon 40 dollars off.

Now thinking about getting a pen and maybe try to figure out if I can use it for my guitar hobby.

Thank you for all your input..

hello,
I am seriously considering an iPad Pro 12.9. As of now I would say that 70% of my usage will be surfing, watching tv and keeping softball stats. I am not an artists or at this point can see myself using a pen, but if some things work out at work I may. I do a lot of traveling for my daughters sports all over the country. Sometimes in my truck and sometime driving. Plus taking the pad to the softball fields.

I will upgrading from an ipad3

1) how durable is the 12.9 screen?
2) what type of case would you recommend?

Anything else you can think of or tips?

Thx
Title says 12.9 questions but your post only has 3. Deceptive much?

great going!

for me, the Pencil is a revelation. i've always enjoyed finger navigation. never used a stylus. Then the Pencil came along. and these days my ipadding and navigation is, i'd say, 99% Pencil driven. So accurate and precise and easier. (in my opinion of course :) )

If i was you I would wait for the samsung chromebook pro...comes with s pen, sd card slot, attached keyboard, 2k 3:2 12.3 in display, runs all android apps and chrome os apps, 360 degree hinge all for 499.99...I own both iPad pros and this just seems like a better and more complete deal.

You cannot compare Samsung to Apple, massive quality difference, android OS...YUCK! #nof*#kingwonderitscheaper

I just got the pro 12.9 model and I love it it great for tv watching and surfing the internet and playing games and listening to music
I do take down to la for my doctor visits and overnight stay in the hospital when having a test done .i take a daypack with cloths and the iPad in a carrying case it seams to work out great for the train travel
I did buy the 29watt power unit for faster charging time plus a few other thing I want is the pencil for my notes and drawing usage

Not trying to start anything but each to their own my phone is android because it is supported developers that port new ROMs and keep it up to date without having to wait and bow down to Verizon...both OS's have their advantages and disadvantages...

Kev, Chan wasn't having a go, he was being humorous. A light hearted observation about you only posting 3 questions and not 12.9 that you originally stated in the title of the thread :p i dont know if you picked up on his meaning ;)

whatever, i found i quite witty :)

12.9 iPad has been great for me. I found the logi (Logitech) Create keyboard to work exceptionally well plus it offers a lot more protection than the Apple case. I use the keyboard a lot. If getting a keyboard case get one that supports the Apple Smart Connector instead of Bluetooth. Larger screen is really nice.

Any problems with the Logi Create scratching the screen? I'm interested in getting this case for my iPad but worried about all the reports I've read of the case permanently damaging the screen while closed. A couple posts I've come across suggest the Create case has been slightly redesigned so there's more of a gap between the keyboard base and screen when closed.

If nothing else I suppose I could keep a microfiber cloth between the keyboard and screen.

This too was my concern, so I ended up getting the Brydge keyboard instead. I would have preferred the Logi because it uses the smart connector, but wasn't willing to risk damage to my screen.
