those who are ordering the new 12.9 or even the old one.

you getting the smart cover or the keyboard case? still in two minds. logic says i should get the keyboard cover

Yes. I love the keyboard for the 9.7. It took some getting use to because of the smaller form factor but it completely transformed my outlook on the iPad. Some might find it expensive but I think it is completely worth it for what it is--a cover and a slim, quickly accessible keyboard that I love the feel of.

The only thing I am wondering if if there is any difference from the previous generation keyboard...

Just ordered a 12.9 pro and opted for the smart cover. After using it at the store, I found it to be handy to have and the extra weight/thickness to be minimal compared to other keyboard cases. Though the feeling of typing on it definitely is different from a regular laptop keyboards because of the fabric and key travel.

I have the Smart Cover because I'm using mine for 99% consumption purposes. But I really thought hard about the Smart Keyboard but it was quite expensive as well.....with that said, now I wish I had the keyboard

Since the iPad 2, I’ve loved the combination of the iPad + Smart Cover. I was a bit nervous about the Smart Keyboard cover when the Pro came out, but I think it was one of my favourite purchases in 2016. I treat it like a Smart Cover, can use it in multiple setups, and in a second can flip it to use the keyboard.

One question? Do or have the magnets on the cover ever mark the iPad?
The Smart Connectors on the iPad eventually get light dot marks on them from the pins on the Smart Keyboard. I did notice a few faint lines on the side of my IPP but they seem to go away after I rub them with a micro cloth. I have never taken off my Smart Keyboard...I've only unintentionally disconnected it when i was trying to close the keyboard portion
