I work from home office, and whenever i leave my home office I used to carry my iPad Air 2 with me for emergency server troubles, but now since i got new macbook, my iPad is just sitting next to my 27" iMAC and being used just for netflix while i work on my iMAC and my macbook is usually in my bedroom where i can work on it if needed after office hours or carry it with me if i leave my house, can always use my iphone data with my MB when not at home

I've never really been a tablet person. I've tried several iPads and they only ever fill a very small niche for me - travel. Tablets just work better in airport terminals, in rental cars and on airplanes. I currently have a work issue iPad Air 1 with LTE plan and I can go for 2-3 day business trips with it. If it's just an overnight trip I usually make do with just my iPhone 6S Plus (but you do eventually tire of staring at a small screen.) Before I got the rMB I would take the iPad on vacation for up to a week because the Macbook Air was just too heavy/bulky. The rMB is so small and light in comparison that it travels so nicely in a sleeve. If my iPad didn't have a data connection I don't think I'd ever use it.
[doublepost=1468411728][/doublepost]I completely agree....and I already gave my wifi only iPad to my GF who loves it. Anything I can do on the iPad I can do on the 6S. The rMB seems to be hated by many....but I just can't understand it. I LOVE mine...and frankly I don't think I'll ever be without one to compliment my desktop (currently 2012 i7 Mac Mini). I hope they keep this form factor. I don't care that it only has one port...or that its not a graphics powerhouse. Its all about the size and the fact that it runs a fully featured MacOS.

Totally agree with everything in your post. I'm in the same boat--tablets have never really been my thing, though I've bought several iPads. I've either sold or given them all away at this point.

I agree that the one use-case where I sometimes yearn for an iPad is travel. On airplanes, trains, etc. it's a great device. And the battery life/data connection make it that much better. However, you're right in that the rMB is nearly as portable at this point. Especially when considering an iPad Pro w/ keyboard, etc., the rMB definitely doesn't weigh you down.

I've found my 6s+ can pretty much do anything I want to use a tablet for. The screen size makes it a good middle-ground between smartphone and tablet, and it totally eradicates my need for a tablet. Don't get me wrong, I think tablets are great for certain people, especially the much-younger and much-older generations who aren't as familiar with various electronics. Personally, though, I just can't find a place in my everyday flow to use a tablet. Even when I have made it a point. The lack of 100% synchronization between an iPad and iPhone makes the iPad more of a hassle than it's worth.

The beauty of the MacBook form factor is that it's so minimalistic that it's essentially the cleanest looking notebook that can possibly be made. The keyboard goes edge-to-edge and can't get smaller. The trackpad leaves almost zero bezel above and below. And, it's thickest point is still just barely able to accommodate it's single USB-C port. Aesthetically, it's just about as good as it can get.

I'm really glad to see I'm not the only one that loves the new rMB. I was beginning to wonder if there was something wrong with me???

You're absolutely normal :) - most (if not all) of us owners of rMB are in love with our beautiful devices.
I've noticed more often than not that most people who criticise this device don't actually own one, they're merely repeating whatever they read on the internet with no first hand experience whatsoever. I guess that many people resent the barebones connectivity and the limited expandability of the device, and their minds get blocked by that, when in reality it's absolutely not a problem - like it isn't a problem on the iPad, for example. Once people start seeing the rMB for what it is in reality - an iPad-like, portable device with retina screen, flash storage and a keyboard and OS X - they will stop comparing it to heavy-duty MacBook Pros and hopefully change their mindsets about it.
