I was shocked last night when I set my iPhone 11 and my new iPhone 12 Mini side by side and ran the Ookla Speed Test app to test internet speed. Both using my home WiFi, both connecting through the same server via the app- my 11 was getting about 110MB download speed, while the 12 Mini was getting over 600MB speed!

I had run this test once last weekend, too, when I first got the Mini and had similar results.

Anyone else noticing a massive increase in your WiFi speeds with this phone? it is odd, I had heard that both WiFi and Cellular connectivity were improved in the 12 series, but wow!

My iPhone 12 shows same speed as iPhone 11 at 250MB. But then my internet is limited to 250MB. I can get those speed using 5ghz frequency. On 2.4ghz i was getting slower speeds.

My XS Max gets just over 630 down so I’d say something was up with your 11 🤔

I would almost certainly guarantee that your iPhone 11 was on 2.4GHz and the 12 was on 5GHz.

No way there is a disparity like that between the 2 phones, it’s totally indicative of them being on different bands
