Hello everybody.

I am new here and on the fence from switching from android to ios/Iphone

I have a couple of questions.

1. Are there people who had the 12 mini and the regular 12? I know the 12 mini has got the weaker battery life but in daily use how much difference is there? 1 hour screen on time more? It this really an issue if you only browse, make calls, social media. I read things that people don't or barely get trough the day with the mini but i love the size. I am not a power user. Don't game on my phone.

2. Is the "receiving text issue" solved? This is important to me because of my work. I get a code via sms to login for some systems. No code means I cannot do my work,.

1) If you are a light phone user, the mini will do just fine. Many, many people get 5 - 6 hours of screen on time. The battery life isn't bad it just isn't equal to the larger phones, which many here use. That is why many gripe. They live on their phones and you can't do that on the mini without charging.

2) You can receive 2FA SMS text on your phone.

currently in same boat !

but I'm comparing the mini to my SE in terms of battery

from YT vids it looks impressive

I have the iPhone 12 and I am very tempted by the iPhone 12 mini just because of the reachability and pocketability :)

Now in terms of Battery life and screen comfort for reading content, I know that I could be missing the iPhone 12... I find the iPhone 12 battery life quite decent (more than a day for me) and it has a very good screen for media consumption hence why I am quite torn :).

I tried to swap out from iPhone 12 to iPhone 12 mini and just couldn't do it. Nothing wrong with the mini, but after two days it was just too small for me. Not a huge fan of "large" phones (previous plus and now max), but sent it back and just going to stick with the 12 for now.

That's why I am hesitating so much for switching to the iPhone 12 mini since the iPhone 12 is not really a huge phone (just a bit taller than the iPhone 11 Pro and with a bulky feeling because of the flat sides but lighter) while the iPhone 12 mini is very small (side by side it looks so tiny against the iPhone 12).

Just to put things in perspective. The 12 is just about 24.4% larger in volume than the 12 Mini and about 21.5% heavier. Pretty significant considering that the 12 is not a huge phone to begin with. Also want to add that I'm using a 12 Pro (same size as 12) and it doesn't seem much bigger than the SE (2nd gen) that I traded it for it. Part of that of course is due to the larger bottom bezel on the SE to accommodate the home button. So you still might want to give the 12 a try.

I had a Mini since launch day. I really did love it, but as time went on the battery life did become an issue and some days I could not make it to the end of the day without charging. Plus, the keyboard did feel a bit cramped for me. So, I am now on a 12 Pro and like it much better for the extra battery life and larger screen size. Just my 2 cents. :)

When reading some feedback here and there I feel that the iPhone 12/12 Pro are the most balanced options. Not to mention that the regular 12 is quite lighter than the 12 Pro (aluminium vs Stainless steel).

so far I am at 80% for keeping my iPhone 12 and not switching for the iPhone 12 mini.

You can’t make a decision after two days. Trust me, my own experience. Our hands and brain need at least 3 weeks to understand that change.

My own experience (try to find my thread Undecided - 12 or 12 mini?) is saying that you should try it and for a longer period in daily life. I had both for one month and despite still having some doubts, one still wins for me personally overall. Both have something I appreciate but one has to be better for me overall. That’s how my choosing worked.
