Oh dear, I think it does mean that the 12" is excluded. Oh no! I think you may be the first to realize this

but the 12" can read dvds too... so maybe an older version is exluded... ???

All models of the current iBooks qualify for the rebate. The old revisions had a CD-ROM only model and those did not qualify. All is well if you buy one now :)

Well, I went w/ the 14" over the 12" for several reasons:

1. Most importantly, I bought it off eBay 1-week old for $300 less than new. Yes, it's the latest 1.42ghz version, 60gb, 512mb, superdrive.

2. My wife and I take alot of roadtrips, and we watch movies on it. The 14" screen will be nicer for that.

3. Having the portability of the Superdrive, especially as nice as it is now, is great.

4. Did I mention I got mine practically new for $300 cheaper than new?

Coming from a 12" dual usb model, the 14"'s footprint is a small adjustment, but it's worth it for me personally.

Congrats on the new iBook, so you got yours for 1199?
Are you talking to me? No, new 14" goes for 1299 - 300 (well, 299 to be exact) = $1000 for a 1-wk old 14" 1.42ghz, 60gb, 512mb, superdrive w/ all original accs included. The thing looked like it wasn't used at all (which is possible )

Still can't believe the deal I got....
