Just saw this... in 3D games the 1.33 12" pb is actually almost as fast as the 1,5 15" with the 64mb 9700 radeon that is. Although I doubt that it would make a huge difference with the 128mb version. That said the 12" is only 1-2 frames per sec away from the 15"... so I guess at least gaming is not really an excuse for getting the 15" :D

They had some wrong stats showing before. Seeing the new stats now it seems like the 1,5 Radeon9700(64) smokes the 1,33GF5200(64) in almost every game test. I would really like to see how much it would be of a difference with the pro apps and compared to the 1,5Ghz with the 128mb Rad9700. I take my statement that it wouldn't make that much of a difference back. For regular use though(everything besides pro apps annd gaming) I think there isn't that much of a difference.

For me this means that after having thought to have made a decision on the 12" I am back to thinking again. I could sell my 22" CRT and get the 15" fully loaded instead(I just hate the size of the 22", although the screen estate is just sweet). Has anyone had both and knows if the weight difference is substancial?

If portability is an issue, I would definitely go for the 15". The increased spead and graphics card is worth it.
Not to mention Firewire 800, bigger screen and PCMCIA. I just bought a 15" COMBO that I'll be using with an extrenal FW800 as boot disk and another FW800 for audio/video files. Also, when I get my g5 next Fall I'll be able to hook the FW800 drives up to that as well. Nice!

Why not bump the resolution?

I think the size of my 12" iBook is awesome and now want a Powerbook. It would be great to keep the portability while having the ability to attach the PB to an external monitor and keyboard when I need to do something that requires the real estate.

One big question I have for Apple is: Why don't you increase the size of the screen resolution in that 12" screen? I have a Dell Laptop with a 1400 x 1050 resolution on not much bigger of a screen. Apple should keep the PB 12" at the same size and get a better screen!

This would get my vote, and i'm sure many others - hands down.

That and a backlit keyboad!

Go ahead and do that, and I'll pay a premium.
