Should I wait for the 13 series or is the 12 pro still a good buy right now?
I hear the 13 pro is getting a 120hz which would be really nice, but at the same time I would like a new phone pretty soon. Any help is appreciated.

No one knows whether the 13 will come out this year or 2022.

If you are asking about the 2021 model, we are probably 7 months out, so it is up to you. If you need something soon, don't wait. If you can wait, the 5G modem should be improved. Which might be more important even though I've not used 5G yet myself.

What’s your current phone and what’s it’s condition? My answer would really depend on this. Anything newer and in decent condition I’d say wait since were mid cycle now so it’s only 6 months. Anything older or in poor condition then replace it because it’ll be a significant upgrade either way.

It's a Huawei mate 20 lite. It's a little cracked but the screen still works well and it isn't too slow.

Hmm looking at it it’s got a pretty mid ranged processor comparable to the a9 benchmark wise so it would be a decent upgrade. I would still say wait if it isnt needed but if you have to upgrade it would be a good one.

There’s nothing wrong with the 12 series a few months on. In fact this device will be decent in a few years.

If you need to change, go for it. If you are not against selling it later you could see what the 13 offers. If it’s worthy of an upgrade again you will still get a good return on the 12 to contribute to the 13.

If you don’t need a phone now, wait

if you need a phone now then get what you need

but the phones this year look to have some solid upgrades if rumours pan out

Hmmm, wouldn’t say solid, more of a s release, 120hz on a iPhone will barely make a difference, iPhone scrolling has been smooth as butter since day 1, slightly improved cameras, smaller notch (vertically)

In saying that a new iPhone is still a new iPhone which is only 6 month away, if your phone can hold up till then I’d wait.

😳😳😳

I take everything back, Upgrade ASAP😂android 🤦‍♂️ Huawei 🤦‍♂️

Kidding, wait for the 12s/13, I’m sure you’ll be able to live with android/huawei for another 6 month, even though it won’t be easy.

Its actually been quite a good phone, but i just want something that works better with social media and lasts longer
Wait if you can. Price wise, Due to Apple's price policy, it only makes sense to buy Apple products at introduction, unless you can get/find a mid cycle discount elsewhere.

I would wait to buy a 2021 iPhone day one.
Your phone is from 2018 it's not that antic and we are in a mid cycle. I think it is worth waiting and if you are not convinced by 2021 models you could get bigger discounts on 2020 models if relevant for you

I would wait till the iPhone 221 comes out. Come on now. 😂 If you need a new phone buy now. There will always be a new one on the horizon.

Difficult question given we're around the halfway point in the iPhone 12's cycle.

Frankly, September is a long ways off. Seven months may seem like around the corner, but you've got the whole spring and summer months that if you're out and about, an iPhone 12 might be worth it.

But yes, the 120mhz and smaller notch are tempting features.

I like to buy in March. Any changes in iOS have finally been taken care of and tends to be mature. As attested to the updates this week across the board. Same with hardware production.
Planning to replace iPhone X with 12 thru AT&T even now.
I had a Mate 9 which I liked but decided not to buy Huawei again. I do have a Note20U to keep my curiosity.

Get what you need when you need it. There is no wrong or right in this.
This. This. This. 1000x over, OP. Get what you want/need when you want/need it. You can play the waiting game every single cycle. Value is what you make it—especially with most phones these days. I just bought an 11 Pro even though the 12s are out and the 2021s are coming. Food for thought. Alternatively, if the current models aren’t tickling your fancy and you aren’t in need, wait it out.
