It is working for me...but it isn't the number of taps, it is the pattern. Right turns are 12 continuous taps.

Left turns are tap - tap - pause. Left feels like a turn signal, and right is just straight tapping.

The way I feel the difference is left and right are both a series of taps. Except left stutters; right is a constant stream.

This is pretty much how I would describe it. Right is a constant tapping, left is a series of taps and pauses. Works fine for me have used it several times over the weekend.

Tested it the first day I got the watch, works fine for me.

tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap for right
tap tap -- tap tap -- tap tap for left.

Same. I used it on my way home for UPS and a lot yesterday (drove round trip San Diego-Orange County) and it's worked flawlessly every time.

I tried this on Friday in the UK. It seemed to me that while Left & Right worked as described, for any complex junctions (like roundabouts) I got a double-tap which I assume is there to prompt you to check your watch to be clear

Could the the double tap mean, to exit at the 2nd exit?

Try resetting and restoring your watch yalag. It seemed to improve the haptics a little - others have reported the same thing.

No, it just means there's a roundabout coming up.

Worked perfectly for me when both walking and driving. For walking, I simply dictated the address to my watch and it gave me walking directions. For driving, I type the address into the phone and had turn by turn navigation. Without any further interaction, the Watch automatically gave me haptic feedback which I did not expect at all.

left: tap tap - tap tap - tap tap
right: tap tap tap tap tap tap tap etc.

then again, i'm in NYC so Maps has been very reliable around this area.
