I'm in the market to buy my first tablet and I'm interested in the iPad Pro's ProMotion adaptive refresh rate technology because like others in this thread, I appreciate the smoothness of video not put through 3:2 pulldown.
I'll be watching more TV shows than movies on whatever tablet I buy, and since most scripted shows made for broadcast, cable, and satellite TV networks are shot at 23.976 Hz (please correct me if I am wrong), I need to know how the iPad Pro with ProMotion technology displays 23.976 Hz content.
I use these streaming video providers: Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime/Instant, and Vudu, and I might someday use Plex. I'd really like to know whether those iPad apps take advantage of the ProMotion adaptive refresh rate technology.
Right now, the adaptive refresh rate technology is the ONLY thing making me consider an iPad. I haven't seen any Windows 10 tablets or 2-in-1s that offer a 120 Hz refresh rate, but there are reasons for me to consider buying a Windows 10 tablet or 2-in-1 instead of an iPad.
