New Macbook Air i7, 31 cycle counts already!

I just got it last night and I haven't charged the 11" yet. I don't think 31 cycles for a brand new air is right. Should I bring it in to the geniuses?

That seems pretty high and more than just "testing." Mine had 1. I had a refurbished model once that had 13 cycles.

yah im bringing it in today at the applestore.
I got this from amazon so hopefully they dont make me return it to them and hopefully replace it at the applestore.

I've had mine for two weeks or so and the cycle count is 4 (yeah i don't use it that much, it's a secondary machine to the iMac and i don't have to go out to work that much)

Sounds like it's a return. My 2010 Air refurb only had 3 cycles and 5 weeks old when I got it back in Feb.

so i went to the applestore...theyre willing to replace the battery, but wont replace the system bc it was brought from amazon.
What would you guys do? Get a whole new one from amazon or just get that new battery from apple?

If there is nothing else wrong, I'd take the new battery and be done with it. They are rated for 1000 cycles, so it probably won't be a big deal otherwise, but then that way you have a "brand new" device. Also, keep the receipt and call Amazon back. See if they'll give you an adjustment since they sold you an open box machine and didn't tell you. You'll have the Apple repair as evidence that the machine was used.

I wouldn't ask for or expect too much, but maybe they'll give you a little something that you could use toward accessories for your new Mac.

Last week, when I received my 11" air, it had 20 cycles on it. Since it was sealed in Apple's packaging, I'm pretty sure it wasn't a refurb. But really who cares? It is in fantastic shape, has the Samsung display and ssd, and works perfectly. However, a new battery would be nice...

Ask for a partial refund or something similar. They also are willing to do something like if you speak to a manager due to costs to collecting and redelivering another item.
