In America
...We have no idea when the iPhone 5 will be announced. This has certainly been the most interesting rumor lead-up to an iPhone release yet.

So to ease the pain that clearly many of us have, due to seeing various comments in the forum. I was thinking of predicting a timeline when we believe the iPhone 5 will be available.

I agree with this article by CultOfMac, which predicts the following:

September 14th - Apple will send members of the press invites to attend their traditional Fall Event.

September 21st - Will be the day the event will be held in the San Francisco area.

September 28th - Pre-orders will be taken online.

October 7th - The iPhone 5 will finally be available to the masses.

except, i believe that the iPhone 5 will be available on October 5th, based on the iPad 2 being announced on March 2nd.

What are your guesses?

I was really thinking the toady would be the day we see invites go out. Obviously I was wrong about that. So I guess next week is when invites seem more likely.

Although I have been more on the pessimistic side of things lately, my suppressed optimistic side says this:

Event announced: sept 14th
Actual event: sept 21st
Pre-orders: sept 28th
Launch: Oct 7th

Yeah, what OP said

That was our hint when iOS5 was announced at wwdc. "coming this fall"...which officially starts on sept 21. It all makes sense now...lol

This needs to be said.

I think that the press conference will be announced early next week some time?? Just a feeling??

And a taought just popped to mind, remember apple aparently invested in curved glass equipment for something or other??? Can we expect a curved glass back on the new phone?? Probly not, just remembered the reports about it there!!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A5313e Safari/7534.48.3)

I was hoping the keynote would be the 14th. This way it'd be the day after ninteno's press conference and would more than likely steal their thunder. Not that apple needs it, it'd just be nice to bury them even more

So everyone is saying we'll be able to buy the iPhone 5 sometimes in October huh? That's good to know, I just dropped my iPhone 4 and cracked the back and front. I have stickers holding it all together right now.

Also anyone heard anything about the iPhone 5 using a different kinda glass? There at 5 people at my work that have an iPhone 4, and every single person has a cracked screen.

The iPhone 5 may not even use glass on the back anymore for all we know. Just wait a week or two until they unveil it to find out.

I believe Apple has realized what a mistake it was to use glass on a smartphone, it was a huge design flaw. I believe that we can expect another material instead of glass for the iPhone 5, seriously, i would take anything but glass.

Oh man, this is sweet.

After waiting for over a year, it looks so close. I'm very excited.
