So, I have an introverted and extroverted thread currently active. In it, I found something called the MBTI test(I know, it's common knowledge ), and discovered that my personality type is INTJ. I did some research, and the characteristics for that type perfectly describe me, even the negative ones.

Obviously it would be more accurate if you had this test administered professionally, but I found a free version on the internet that might determine your type. http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp.

I had some of my friends also take this test, and we are all IN_J, which are supposed to be rare types. Is there any verified evidence that 'birds of a feather' do flock together?

Anyway, please vote in the poll if you have taken the test.

Here is the result for the U.S population. Let's see how the forum compares!

INTJ

The Mastermind.

The career indicator includes engineering. I have a MechE degree :D

"Masterminds do not feel bound by established rules and procedures, and traditional authority does not impress them, nor do slogans or catchwords. Only ideas that make sense to them are adopted; those that don't, aren't, no matter who thought of them. Remember, their aim is always maximum efficiency."

A good example would be on the highway; I drive 70mph. I am not even remotely concerned about the speed limit whether it be 55 or 75.

I love using cruise control. I get irritated when people won't maintain their speed in light/no traffic. I tolerate it in traffic because, hey, there's lots of cars lol.

ENFP, I've taken lots of those tests and always get the same one. I think it fits me quite well.

I have to admit, I'm always slightly worried to take these and have it say "SURPRISE! You're a sociopath!" whenever I answer honestly that, while I am completely intuitive to human emotions, I am not very interested in it because I find it a hinderance.

My results were:

INTP

very expressed introvert
moderately expressed intuitive personality
distinctively expressed thinking personality
moderately expressed perceiving personality

I'm sure I've taken this before and got INTJ, which also fits but INTP seems to fit even more so, with the exception of attention span. Mine can be rather short if it's not something that I'm engrossed in.

As for other INTPs, it seems I'm in good company: Socrates, Blaise Pascal, Sir Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin. :)

ISFJ

moderately expressed introvert
slightly expressed sensing personality
moderately expressed feeling personality
moderately expressed judging personality

I have no idea what those mean. ;)

Edit: Other ISFJs… Jane Fonda? Guess its time for me to dig out my old leotards…

ENFP; and the art and management career suggestions are appropriate for me.

It's difficult to be brutally honest in such 'quizzes'. I have a preference to want to make myself sound more logical, scientific, and premeditated than I am. There were a few questions where I changed my answers after considering how I've actually behaved in recent events. Anyone find the same thing?

A lot of the answers I had to give second thought like that. Also some of them were limiting in that "it depends on the situation".

I always wish I could be more extroverted but it's so plainly not who I am. Amusingly I am much more extroverted on the internet because I can do so on my own terms. *shrug*

A personality test based on Carl Jung!!!???

You might as well have a personality test based on the ideas of Mickey Mouse. Jung's theories are ideologies, not even close to scientific theories by any stretch of the imagination.

As you can tell, my personality type is "Annoying". :p ;)

There's evidence that that the brains of introverts are simply wired differently from extroverts. As an introvert, one of the annoying challenges I've faced in life has been dealing with extroverts who believe introversion is something that should be and can be cured.

If I'd have listened to what "they" said, I would have turned out living my life as a closeted introvert...

That makes total sense to me. Doing things on one's own terms is generally how introverts' work best, isn't it?

INTJ. I read some descriptions of INTJ to my girlfriend, and she literally freaked out because she said it was me "in paragraph form"; so I'm guessing it's fairly accurate :D

Not sure why there are so many on this site when they're so rare in the general population; perhaps forums are more conducive for INTJs?
