FINALLY!

Anadtech is the only guy I trust 100% when it comes to reviews.

His findings about the battery life make me smile :)

Great review. Certainly covered all the technical items that once read through and understood, should eliminate many of the "concerns" posted about. Especially in terms of battery life.

Arent these the guys who mistakenly posted charts comparing the 4s to everyone else using different standards?

Oh yeah, after I read that Im convinced I no longer have a battery issue.

as the review covers, it really depends on your use and what you're doing with your phone.

Mine shows 16.5hrs of standby and I've logged 5hrs of usage yet still have 30% battery left.

I've had over 3hrs of phone calls, a number of texts, I manually check my email from 5 different accounts all the time and I used it for 26 pictures tonight with the kids trick or treating. Little bit of surfing and some app browsing as well.

I'm pleased with the results. Especially considering I rarely go more than 8hrs in a day without access to a plug to charge it. When I do, I carry a small 1000Mah battery backup charger. More than enough to take a low powered phone back to several hours of use.

My use is similar to my 4, that hasn't changed, that's my benchmark. They can do all the Scientific tests they can pull out of their asses, anyone who works in science, like i do, will tell you it doesn't always translate into the real world results.

I just got through reading that, one amazing review no doubt. I absolutely agree with his comments on design changes

I hear ya. Just thought I'd share what I'm seeing. Right now I'm up to just over 6hrs of use as I had another call or two tonight. Approaching 19hrs of standby and I ripped off about two dozen more photos playing with some apps. 19% left.

So in my world, it's actually performing better than my 3Gs ever did just based on my own usage.

Good luck working with it.

Yeah I'm not near that. I was at about 5hrs of usage and 13hrs of standby and was at 4%.

AnandTech runs the iPhone 4S through its paces:

Apple iPhone 4S: Thoroughly Reviewed

From a hardware perspective, the iPhone 4S is a great upgrade to the iPhone 4. If the 4 was your daily driver, despite the lack of physical differences, the 4S is a noticeable upgrade. While not quite the speed improvement we saw when going from the iPhone 3G to the 3GS, the 4S addresses almost every weakness of the iPhone 4.

They didn't include the Samsung Nexus Prime?

In CPU benchmark, the new Samsung Nexus Prime is beating the iPhone 4S. I haven't seen GPU benchmarks yet though.

Probably because the phone isn't actually officially out yet?

The Prime is not out yet. What CPU benchmarks are you talking about? The gpu is definitely much weaker in the prime though. It uses the sgx540 which is about 3x slower than the sgx543mp2 in the 4s

I agree that the review was a great read :)

Anandtech always has reviews that I have to read 3 - 4 times in order not to miss anything since he covers a vast amount of material.

The whole "batterygate" thread was making me wonder if the battery issues some were having were caused by faulty hardware or software? Well Anandtech is the one guy I would 100 % trust in his review on battery life. After reading his review I feel that any issue with battery life is on the software end (fixable w/ an update) instead of the hardware (not fixable) which makes me very happy :D

I absolutely agree with his comments on design changes

You mean how it really doesn't make sense from a product standpoint to completely re-design every year and how most companies might do this early on in a products life but once it gets established they tend to keep the design around for a couple generations?
