I have the 128 and have never felt a lack of memory. As a matter of fact, I split it 50/50 with Windows using 60GB and Mac using 60GB and I still have like 30GB left on both partitions.

Just make sure you have an external hard drive for music and pics and other wasteful space huggers and you're good to go!

Not everyone can fit their os and applications into 60 GB. I would even struggle with 128 GB so I can't see how anyone here can offer advice of xxx is enough for me, therefore it will be enough for you.

A rather good point as my Applications folder is 45GB by itself. Add to that OS X and you barely have room for data in 60GB.

Basic point is everyone has different needs, wants, likes, etc. Otherwise Apple would only need to sell one model with no options.

Some people like having some music with them. Or did you mean for them to carry the external drive with them? In which case the weight savings of the Air is negated.

My hard drive is about the size of my phone....weight is negligible. I also have a usb memory key that is the size of a mouse dongle...again, even more negligible. If you feel the need to waste your expense and fast drive on disposable media, than feel free to spend an extra $500 on nothing. I will continue to carry a 7oz 1TB hard drive with me (breaking my arm!!!).
