iPhone 16 Pro 128GB in 2024

So I‘m currently using a 12Pro with 128 GB internal storage and am set on upgrading to the 16Pro…

Not sure about storage though… I’m on the 2TB iCloud storage plan, of which 400gb are currently in use. Thus, about 50% of my local storage are still free. With this setup, I think going for 256gb wouldn’t really provide any benefit to me.

BUT: How are 128GB going to hold up in the next 4 years? Will I need more space for more complex Apps? Will iOS require more space with all these AI capabilities?

I know that nobody can have definitive answers… But how do you people decide on the storage question?

As someone who goes base storage I’m going to have to bump up to 256GB and that’s with 1TB of iCloud. Just pictures, memes/screenshots of various things, videos etc on the phone it gets eaten up quick.

I’m terrible at deleting old stuff but if you are good at that then you can probably get by still on 128GB. I just deleted a nearly 50GB iMessage thread last month when my phone told me I was about out of space, to give you an idea of how truly bad I am at that

But yeah, I’m in the same boat… Had to delete some WhatsApp media when I was told it couldn’t backup due to lacking storage.

Now that I think about it, there’s my reason to go 256 this time…

How are 128GB going to hold up in the next 4 years?

Its gonna be fine as long as you have a 2TB iCloud subscription and have Optimize iPhone Storage activated.

There are basically no other concerns for 128GB. Most people don't have a bunch of crazy AAA games that take up storage.

either learn to edit photos ruthlessly or get more storage than you think you’d need today.
