Best Buy is running a sale on the Mini 4. Looks like a good time to buy for those who are considering a Mini 4. $125 off is an excellent discount on a $400 iPad.

[doublepost=1500495935][/doublepost]You think thats because they know something?? Maybe an ipad mini 5 in the fall? OR with the other rumor of a new SE in August a release then...a small phone going along with a new small tablet would be perfect for the cost conscious millions of college students about to start back to school? Seems to me it would be really easy for a new mini to fly under the radar with all the hoopla surrounding the iphone 8.

Every time Best Buy has a sale on Apple products there is a bit of speculation as to why. There is nothing to this sale. It is simply one of their regular sales on Apple products.

Thanks for posting. Just upgraded my Mini 2. I'm kicking myself for missing the $150 trade-in though.

Rats! You have early access. It's still showing that full price for me.

I'm hoping that this means that it will be on sale to everyone on Friday. Thanks for the heads up!

I think it's because Apple gave BB an incentive to move some iPad minis out the door because inventory is building. Could also be a mini 5 in the fall but I doubt it. If Apple was going even to a mere chip update it would have done it in April when it bumped up the storage.

My guess is if there is a mini 5 -- and hope there will be -- it won't be until next year. Possible that Apple will start rotating the iPad and mini update years so each is updated every other year while the Pro is updated annually? Just a thought. But it's Apple so not productive to think to much about it's M.O. because everything you think you know you are proven wrong. Heh.

Oops, sorry about that. Yes, it should be available to everyone on Friday. That gives people 2 days of couch diving to find spare change. :D

I don't consider it an "Oops!" at all. That tells me that I need to grab one Friday. I'm glad to have the early warning even though I can't take advantage of it today. I plan to pick one up to use as a sandbox device for an app that I'm beta testing. Don't want to mess up the functioning app on the two iPPs during testing.

Yes, thanks so much to the OP for pointing this out! I just looked there yesterday, and it was still $399, so I was thrilled to see your post and ordered one right away. I'm also kicking myself for not traipsing to the store last Saturday on the final day to trade in my mini at the $150 price. I wonder if they'll ever offer that deal again.

It looks like the $275 price may become available to anyone without early access perhaps as early as Thursday as the early access sale ends this evening, so make sure you check tomorrow if you want one.

I don't know if this means anything, but there are only two colors of the silicone case for the Mini 4 (pink sand and stone) listed on the Apple Store. Can't remember how long ago I checked, but it was within the last two weeks and there were several more colors available then. Limited colors on the covers, as well.

I was just able to order mine online for pickup today. 6:25 AM Central time. I checked the price a little before 6 using my iPad and it still showed the $400 price. Not sure whether the sale price is because it's a little later or because I used my computer, which had my BestBuy account info stored on it.

they also have $200 off the older iPad Pros. Saw the 9.7 IPP 32 gig for $399 which has me tempted. $70 more than the 2017 regular iPad for better screen, speakers, processor, etc.

I see that I neglected to say that I ordered mine AT THE SALE PRICE this morning :). When I checked before 6, it was the regular price. When I checked around 6:20 or 6:25, it was showing the sale price, so I ordered at the sale price. I apologize for not being clear.

Well, technically more like $100-$125 more than the 5th gen iPad, as the entry model is often on sale (now) as well. But I agree, the Pro is better!

I'm not an elite rewards member... but I received an email about it. If you have an account, perhaps check your email and make sure you don't have one with early access :)

my bad, elite early access was yesterday, I have elite access and saw the sales yesterday, today is for bestbuy.com account holders also

Stopped by the Apple store before picking my Mini 4 up from Best Buy and there are NO silicone back covers or smart covers in stock and none at the BB store, either. BB has a few online.

This is an even better deal than when I got it at Best Buy for $299 last month. But I had a $50 gift card, so it brought the price down to $249.

I'm surprised that Apple didn't have any in stock. When I picked up my Mini 4 at Best Buy, they had absolutely no smart covers/cases in stock for the Mini 4. I ultimately ordered a smart cover on Amazon.
