You gotta make sure you iphone is activated officially with its AT&T sim inside first before you JB.
If not and you just JB after restoring it will hactivate it and your official sim will not connect to the network.

You gotta restore it again on 5.0.1
Once done restoring with itunes activate your iphone with your sim in.
Once activated and you're into the homescreen turn off the phone and JB again using redsnow.

Oh, and to redo the restore process do I need to reset my iPhone to factory settings or what? Because when I go to restore in iTunes it does not let me do it because it's not dark, if you know what I mean.
All you do is plug it to itunes and hit restore. I dont know if its dark, maybe turn the light on

Yeah, I know, but what I'm saying is that it won't let me Restore, like when I click it, nothing happens. What does that mean, and what can I do now?
It should.
If not put it in dfu mode to restore.

make sure that you don't have the hacktivation option checked off in redsn0w. i had the same issue once and it was because the phone was hacktivated.
I dont think there is an option there now.
If its not activated officially it automaticly hactivates it now I believe.

i was on 4.3.3 i save shsh thn preserved the baseband using sn0wbreezw then i restored to 5.0.1 facing no problems and i jailbraked with redsnow now I have no signals I iam on 04.10.01 baseband I'm using it with gevey it's says no service how to solve this any 1 help plzzz thanks

That's a good question.
I figured since you saved your baseband gevey will still unlock.
I will research more to see if that's possible still. If not see if you can have any shsh blobs saved so you can downgrade back to 4.3.5 or below.
