I know it's stupid... but which is the "wide" lens on the 12 Pro Max? Corner, bottom or middle?

All the graphics show it's the corner one, even the one on Apple.com. But if I cover the corner lens, the camera works normally in all modes (wide camera should override telephoto in low-light conditions).

OK, makes sense. So telephoto and wide lense are reversed on Pro and Pro Max.

Thanks.

Ultra wide is the weakness out of the lens which is why they are said to give it a big upgrade well this year

On my 12 Pro Max, I was looking at this by covering each lens with my finger at different settings and saw this (indicates which lens blacks out when covered) -

0.5x - Center lens
1x - Bottom lens
2.5x - Bottom lens
12x - Bottom lens

Covering the top lens seemed to have no effect. What am I missing?

If you cover the top lens (2.5x), phone senses not enough light is coming through and switches to wide + digital zoom.

Try putting the phone to 2.5x in broad daylight and then covering the lens.

Also, does anybody know, how to fix the camera to telephoto lens? The problem is when using optical devices like microscope, the phone always shuffles between tele and wide and it's difficult to get a good photo.

Shining at a 4-bulb bright lamp, at 2.5x -

Cover top lens - camera image area blacks out, above and below are lit.
Cover bottom lens - entire screen blacks out

I've been trying to use the phone with a spotting scope with a phone adapter and have been having real problems. That led me to my experiments.
