iPhone 12 Pro 12pro max - poor audio during phone calls

hi all

just started really using my phone today and ANY call i make, the other side can hear me fine (albeit some feedback), but i can only hear every other word and sometimes not even that much. i do not use a hearing aid, i am not using bluetooth. i have tried both speaker phone and regular audio. i’ve tried placing calls as well as receiving calls. i’ve tried with 5g on, set to auto, and off. the only time it’s okay is when i’m at home and on wifi calling.

i’ve searched and only found the hearing aid issues being reported. i am wondering if i’m the only one or if others are having this issue.

I’ve had mine since Friday morning at 10am and haven’t had any issues. Have you reached out to your carrier to see if there are any issues there?

Test:
-Try setting your phone to LTE mode (non 5G mode) - same issue?
-Try setting your phone back to 5G mode - same issue?
-Try setting your phone to calls over wifi mode - same issue?
