HomePod 13.2.1 won't access iTunes Match playlists

Banging my head against a brick wall here...

Updated my three HomePods but they refuse to find any playlists. If I ask them to play a song, it works, but the playlist not a sausage.

Getting increasingly pissed off at updates that dont work properly.

An update - which sort of beggars belief.

I've discovered how to access a playlist.

I have to say "Hey Siri - play a playlist"

It then says which one and I answer (for example) Fleetwood Mac - Rumours.

It then starts pumping out Second Hand News.

Now whilst this is reassuring that there's not some form of sinister block on accessing my iTunes Match library, you do have to wonder who thought it would be an improvement to the user experience to make you have to say two things to the HomePod.

Previously I'd have said "Hey Siri - play playlist Fleetwood Mac rumours" - but this now simply won't work.

The software update seems to have made Siri even more stupid and less reliable. For example - I wanted to listen to "Have A Nice Day" by the Sterephonics. I asked Siri to play "Have A Nice Day" - it starts playing the album by the same name by Roxette - ok not unreasonable. But when I ask it to play "Have a Nice Day by The Stereophonics" I get the "I'm sorry I couldn't find it in your music". But when I ask it to "play some music by the Stereophonics" I get my iTunes titles playing and of course once I keep asking it to "play the next track" eventually up pops "Have A Nice Day" - so much for it not being in my music.

I just wish Apple would allow - or if it can be done make it clear - exactly how to do certain things with Siri on the HomePod. I find it incredibly poor that you can't seem to advance past multiple tracks. Eg imagine I'm listening to Sgt Pepper and I want to jump from Getting Better to Mr Kite - why can't I say "advance three tracks".

Maybe I can and its just me but there doesn't appear to be an easy way to understand how to verbally interact with Siri on the HomePod. Its just hit and usually miss.

FWIW I have *never* had much luck in getting HomePod Siri to actually play what I asked. "Hey Siri, play Leonard Cohen Thanks for the Dance Album" and what plays is some totally unrelated tracks.

I've taken to AirPlaying from my phone which is more under my control.

No different, better or worse, with 13.2.1

I'm having the same issue and responded to a different thread on the subject. I can't get my HomePod to play any of my playlists, nor will it play specific songs.

The short of it — I called AppleCare support and they said it's a known issue that engineers are working on. They did not provide an ETA, nor were they able to tell me how many users are impacted.

Had the same issue! Worked great before 13.2.1 update and then wouldn’t play playlists with Siri. Turn off 'Recognize My Voice' in Home app settings. That worked for me!

Mine's working fine now too. Mine does have 'Recognize My Voice' and any new services from 13.2.1 turned off.
