12" and 14"

Interestingly, Winbook and TigerDirect are selling machines with a 1280x800 resolution 12.1" display, so it seems likely that some supplier out there is making enough of them that Apple could grab them if they so chose. HP, of course, make the dv1000 series, which has a 14" 1280x768 screen on it.

And, actually, those widescreen displays would fit in better with Apple's HD push than their 12 and 14" 1024x768 screens...

I think its fine. I love it because it's so darn portable. It would have been readable even with a resolution bump...

I will be using this computer at school and on the road but also at home as my main computer and was wondering if for someone who uses this as their main computer if they would rather have the 15.

does anyone who ones the 12 inch think the screan is too small and that it is hard to read small text on it?

Nope, the "screen" is fine. Small text can be made larger, but I wouldn't want anything much bigger than this - the size is perfect and it's not too heavy for carting in my backpack on the long, hot walk to uni when the temps start going up.

My father has one of those 14" HP's. The screen is one of those god-awful glossy things but inside the house it looks great and the extra width is very handy. I would like to see them go to 1280x800 for the 13.3" PowerBook if it happens, a little more height wouldn't go astray.

I'll admit that I find these new "briteview" displays with the glossy screen covers to be seriously annoying. Hopefully Apple will stay away from them long enough for me to get a Powerbook! :)

i am kind of suprised that people don't like the glossy screens. i would kill for a powerbook with one.

They look really nice, but if you don't have good lighting conditions, they have a major glare problem...
