I read many reviews and it seems the more positive energy went toward the Air (at release) because of slightly bigger screen, better webcam, and lower price. However with discounts at this point they are pretty much the same price +/- $50US.

All things ($) being equal which one is better?

I guess I am having a hard time wrapping my head around apple making a pro and an air machine simultaneously with the air being the better of the two. I am surprised this thread does not already exist.

I plan on making a purchase. I do all the normal stuff plus some very lightweight Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop and Illustrator).

With M2 Air, you’ll get less weight and bigger screen. I would get Air as long as it can serve my usage.

I can't explain it, but even though the M2 Air is lighter, to me the M2 Pro 13 *feels* better somehow in shape, maybe more comfortable? The slab MBA feels odd to me.

And it just so happens, I am in the camp that really appreciates the following (only?) two things the MBP13 has advantage in: I like the longest battery life! (MBA 15-18 hours, MBP 17-20 hours, per everymac.com). I also use the touchbar (much improved due to Better Touch Tool) for 1-press workflows. Same configuration (not base model) from Apple Refurb store the MBP was $144 cheaper than the M2 Air, but truthfully I would have paid a bit more for the touchbar/batterylife.
