13" entry model obsolete in your opinion?

definitely worth it. but it sure does cut it close in difference. but i love the 13" mbp's! its a cute beastly machine

I could live without the SD slot and backlit keyboard, but the unibody and especially FireWire are a must to me.

If you upgrade the new MacBook to 4GB Ram ($100), it has a price tag of $1099.

The only differences between that machine and the low-end 13" MBP is:
SD Card Slot
FireWire 800
Aluminum unibody
Backlit keyboard

Is that worth $100 in your opinion?

I personally think it is, but I use the SD slot every day, and I'm a sucker for the aluminum case

it is not just those things. it is also 4gb ram (macbook has 2gb) and higher color/gamut display.

Hell yeah! I got the Pro because:

1. Its better than the MacBook because its got "Pro" in the name and its more expensive.

2. Delicious alu body looks way better that the MB and its a lot stronger

3. Backlit keyboard (I don't really need it, but it looks great in semi-low-light situations where you don't need it on but it comes on anyway.)
