Wow - I keep trying to convince myself that I don't NEED a new 13" mba, but dang, that is some crazy long battery life.

Leading you further down the path of temptation - not only does it do the long life, but it stays cool and silent too.

Goddamn. Even the battery increase on old MacBooks is nice. However nothing could convince me to go to the MBA from rMBP. Still nice to see, though.

Done on my early 2008 mbp, and it's true, 30mn more than before. The cool thing is safari, which suspends flash player to keep more battery life...i like:)

I LOVE my 2013 MBA with Mavericks. The battery life is complete insanity. Lasts me an entire day of classes and has plenty of life left when I get home.

Odd. My new 11"MBA doesn't seem to have any change in predicted battery life after upgrading to Mavericks.

Although my geekbench 3 score did improve mildly - from Single Core 2413, Multi 4562 under 10.8.5 to Single 2445, Multi 4607 under 10.9 (Mavericks)

This is a good thing for the whole industry, and for consumers everywhere. Apple has set a high bar for other manufacturers; they will have to figure out how to get this performance without the tight cohesion that Apple has between apps, OS, drivers, and hardware.

When less resources are used to manufacture, ship, use, and recycle our computers, we all win. :)

I don't think the anti-Apple crowd appreciates how much work must go into the hardware and software design... getting this kind of battery life is crazy good.

All these new toys are making very hard not to want a new MB Air... my 6 year old Mac Pro is looking sicker and sicker by the minute. I just might have to open the wallet and get an Apple fix. :D

Don't get me started on the fan noise, which seems to spin up (and stay) around 5300rpm any time I'm on Safari or Time Machine backs up (although it does seem to be running quieter today).

I was actually thinking of getting a new iPad, but the mba battery life is pulling me in the direction of getting a new mba instead. Do I keep justifying my soon to be purchased mba? Like how I'll get the 256gb version with 8gb of ram, so I am further future-proofing it, letting me keep more stuff on it all time so I don't have to keep cleaning house?

Damn you Apple. Damn you.

That's amazing. I'm definitely seeing extended battery life on my 2011 MB Air, I don't know if it's the +25%-30% measured here, but it's noticeable...and appreciated.

I am getting this over the 15 inch retina just because the new retina didn't meet my expectation battery life.

The 13" Air is HALF as powerful as the 15" Retina, and has a low res screen and integrated graphics. They're 2 completely different computers for 2 completely different uses.

Very nice! 15 hours for a MBA is insanity. Wow.

You'll be lucky! in my Real World test (that is actually using the damn thing not just setting up some script) I've never had more than 8 hours from my June 2013 13" Macbook Air. In consequence I expect I'll be extremely lucky if I get more than 9 hours with Mavericks (and yes I've already upgraded and in two hours of use (web surfing mainly but one or two other very minor tasks like setting up iBooks) the battery life is down to 72%.

So it looks like far from battery life improving, it's got worse. At least this time yesterday i was only down to 75%

sounds like a pretty scientific test you got there.

Clicking on the battery icon (now at 71%) prediction is at 7:29 minutes. That gives a full charge time estimate of around 12 hours - what they were claiming I'd get on the thing new. Well lets wait and see.
