    Hi everyone,

The keys on my 13 inch Retina MacBook pro seem to be very dirty and grease reflects from it when held in front of a window with moderate sunlight. I've tried cleaning them with the cleaning cloth provided with the laptop and a bit of water but some of them (mainly the spacebar) still have this grease on them. Is there a way to clean this?

A basic screen cleaner will remove and dirt. Are you sure it's dirt and not the natural buffing effect that polishes the keys commonly used?

I'm not really sure, what is that specific effect?

The keyboard has a Matt finish when new but your fingers will polish the Keys to a glossy finish over time.

Same screen cleaner (on a cloth) and "elbow grease" equally as stated a well used keyboard does develop a natural shine from usage.

Your fingers are wearing down the keys. They'll get shiny over time. The most used keys will get shinier faster.
