13 inch screen lighter around the edges.

Is it normal to have what seems to be light bleed in on the sides? On black screens there is like a lighter line on the sides. Seems pretty evenly on each side.

Mine has some bleed on the bottom. I think it's normal. The LEDs for the backlight are at the edges IIRC.
