I see at BB the 11" version is also on sale for $100 less (so $699.99 with the edu coupon). While not as big as the 13", is this still a worthwhile deal for the 11"? I would be using it docked to a monitor ~50% of the time too.

I currently have my Mac Mini hooked up to the monitor and then a Chromebook c720 (that I got for $125) as my couch laptop. Using Chrome Remote Desktop to connect to the Mini, it's kinda like a cheap 11" MBA, but not quite the same as an actual Mac.

I just bought my 11" Air after coming from years of using 13"+ screens and I absolutely love it. I don't miss the bigger screens at all to be honest. At that price, it's an absolute steal.

I echo ryannel2003's sentiments. I picked one up during Best Buy's Summer deal ($650 w/edu coupon, with additional finagling out-the-door for $450)

It is a terrific device. Battery life is not as good as the 13" and it lacks the SD card slot that the 13" has, but as many of us have said... to get a full OSX machine in something a little larger than an iPad is terrific.

If you decide to get one and need additional storage, I recommend the Sandisk USB nano drive. It's a little USB "nub" thumbdrive than can remain inserted in the MBA. You'll also want to tweak some things because of the smaller screen to make things work a little smoother.

Wow! $450?!?!?! Amazing deal! I have a 10% mover coupon and may be able to get another edu coupon from a co-worker. I've heard mixed success when trying to combine at the store.

I'd like to basically replace the Mac Mini with the MBA. Just would have to deal with connecting/disconnecting the external USB drive when I remove it from my desktop setup. I believe the along with faster wireless (802.11ac vs 802.11n in the Mac Mini) the MBA has better graphics chip as well.

really tempted to pick up a base 13 .. but not sure if i should just hold out a bit more to see what apple does

You should. You can always sell it later and get most of your money back. Also remember that the first generation of retina MBA's could face problems like the early retina pro's had.

Anyone have a copy of the print weekly ad for 10/5-10/12 to see if these will still be on sale this upcoming week? Thanks.

Just missed this deal. I didn't have time yesterday so I was gonna head to BB today. Price is back up to 854.99

The best buy student discount has dropped to $50 now instead of $100. Banging head on table currently lol.

Is $754.99 a good price for a base 11" air? Looking to pickup my first MacBook ever.
