I have the late 2008 13" unibody macbook that needs a new magsafe board
when im searching online I see the model listed as:
"MacBook 13.3" 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo (A1278) - Late 2008 MB467LL/A"

and the specific magsafe for that one as Apple Part #: 661-4947

then i also see results when i search
MACBOOK PRO MAGSAFE A1278 A1286. Apple Part #: 820-2565-A. 2009 2010 2011
so i guess my question is are Apple Part #: 661-4947 and Apple Part #: 820-2565-A the same? they both say they work with A1278
i ask because i see a lot more and cheaper Apple Part #: 820-2565

Thanks

Do you have the broken part from your MacBook to compare the numbers?

nope havn't opened it yet, prefer no to till i have the part in hand, from what i remember of previous mac latops, apple does beautiful design but opening them and getting to the "non user replaceable" parts is a [insert expletive]

that being said it would tell me probably that 1st model number as thats the one specifically listing just the late 2008 unibody but it wouldn't tell me if the two are in fact compatible
