    Hi,
    I would like to ask the people who just purchased the new MBP (either base or high end) whether or not they had any fan or heat issues (ie: very loud fan, and can't put laptop on self).

    This is because I am hesitating between buying old 2010 MBP and the current one. It will be my very first one, and I have an Acer (2 and half year old) that is loud (have to turn up the sound to max to hear movies) and very hot (might be overheating).

    Anyway, I tried the 2010 one and played WoW and there wasn't any heat or fan issue, so I was wondering if the 2011 would behave the same or not.
    I have read quite a few people complaining about that so I just want to know if it is common to all MBP laptops and just some defective ones.

    Thank you!!

    I am waiting my MBP 13" so i can give u a precise answer in a few days but let's do some calcs:
    2010MBP had a Core2duo processor with a 25WTDP and the 320M with a 12W TDP more or less -> total 37W TDP
    2011 MBP core i5/i7 processor with a 35WTDP and integrated graphics
    So the new MBP should produce less heat than the previous.
