Just wondering if anyone has seen these specs yet? I was really hoping for a 14inch with 8 cores and 64gb ram. I am worried the 16 inch is going to be to massive compared to my 15. I do intensive Lightroom and photoshop. I have a 2016 mbp quad core with 16gb ram. It seems like the 16 is almost 80 percent or more faster but what about the new 13? how much faster would that one be compared to mine.

I don’t know (and this is slightly off topic) but I recently switched to a 16” from a 13” and got used to it pretty quickly. Put it in a carrying case and it feels to grab it and go.

I'm skeptical as to whether cpu/gpu performance will make any difference at all in interactive use. For what you're doing I would probably personally prioritize ram (up to the point where you don't swap much) > storage > cpu > gpu.

80% sounds like a lot, but on its own it doesn't say much. You need a pretty big percentage difference to move the needle when it comes to interactive use. Unless the 2016 was sluggish in some way, I wouldn't expect to really notice the difference. If you need to batch a long stream of images, you should see closer to linear scaling with cpu, assuming adequate ram. I imagine most people that do this end up between 16 and 32 GB there. A lot of parallel tasks require separate memory for writable workspace to avoid issues of false sharing and correctness issues when something isn't serializable in place, but 16 or 32 depending on the user is enough for almost everyone buying today to avoid slowdown due to memory constraints.

I should think the 16 inch would be the go to, hands down. Larger display, discrete GPU, better CPU with better heat dispersion.
