Docking stations for Macbook (Pros) do not exist. The closest thing is a thing that plugs into all the ports on the side of your Macbook (Pro) at once.
They don't really do a whole lot for you. You could just as easily plug and unplug your stuff, taking a total of two seconds more, or you could spend $40 on a pretty well useless piece of plastic
What do you plan to connect to your docking station? I guess a monitor, the AC charger, maybe an external disk, a printer? Did you consider the Apple Cinema Display? It's gorgeous, has several USB ports, it charges your MBP. And it costs as hell...
I'll 2nd the Apple Cinema Display. Its beautiful and when compared to capable rivals not that expensive. Also, the new 27" Apple Cinema Display comes out in September. Price is supposed to be $999ish. We love our 24"ACD. YOu can get them refurb'd for $599 at the Apple store.
Those ACDs ARE beautiful. Some day, definitely maybe. Actually, we wanted to look/play with one at an Apple store (10am on a weekday) but the store was just too packed. There were so many kids on them checking their stinking Facebook accounts, we gave up after 15 minutes.
this. Users have been clammoring for a dell or thinkpad style dock since the powerbook days with no budge. ACDs are the best bet.
