Not true, I have a 3 year old gateway that not only needs to be plugged in but also can't be moved or it will shutdown. :)

Touche!

About the women thing- possibly the reason you might see this more is because you may have more women than men around you who are not tech people....I know plenty (on and off this forum) who are very tech savy....my wife is pretty tech savy, but she treats her MacBook pretty badly- leaving it on the arm of big soft chairs, hanging over the edge of the table....on the kitchen table not on a pad or stand....and this is with a 6 and 9 year old....the 9 year old who has ADHD and eats like an angry troll!!:mad:

Some people (men and women) just tend to be more detail oriented...my brother in law is like my wife and my sister in-law is more like me- detail oriented and cares more for her stuff.

So I don't see it as a woman/man thing, just that people are different.

On my 13" macbook pro, I've managed to get 9 hours and 20 minutes and thats with (4 notches of brightness) and with wifi on, bluetooth off. Make sure that you install click2flash (where it blocks out every flash content from every website) so that when you do want to see that flash, you would have to click on it. This saves battery life considerably. :)

I'm very pleased with my 13-inch MBP battery life. I'm getting above seven hours with light web browsing, iTunes playing music, and chatting in an Instant Messenger application. I get around nine to ten hours when the display brightness is down and running the same applications.

My battery only seems to get around four hours if I'm running Photoshop CS5, but I would probably plug it in when I work with that.

If your using the internet, it's probably Flash. I didn't think it was when I got my Mac with lower battery life than expected, but when I downloaded the program I got like 2 more hours of battery life. Download "ClickToFlash". It's a brilliant program, which allows you to allow flash in your webbrowser whenever you want. Try it, you won't regret.

Mac + Flash = Crash
