Looking for some guidance on a new Macbook Pro/Monitor setup before I waste money getting the wrong stuff. I just got a 13” MBP and want to hook it up to a LG 24UD58-B 24” 4K Monitor. I want to make sure I get the right cables/connectors to get the full 4K resolution.

Option 1 would be to hook this cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075V5JK3...olid=1CMGOLTIZPFI5&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it direct to one of the ports on the MCB. The other port would be used for charging.

Option 2 would be to use this usb hub and (hopefully) have a one cable solution for charging/monitor. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MF63WQ...olid=1CMGOLTIZPFI5&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Im open to any other suggestions for those that have done something similar. This gets pretty confusing lol.

Thanks

For probably $10 more, you probably can get an adapter that has HDMI, USB A ports, and a card reader.

I just ordered that hub intentionally to test and likely return it. Image from the Amazon page...

USB-C Gen 2 = ~10 Gbps

4k@60hz + 4:4:4 (no subsampling) + HDR (10-bit) = 22+ Gbps

I'm expecting 4k@30hz 10 bit OR 4k@60hz 8-bit. I might not return it since I could use a hub at work that did 1080p@60hz 8 bit AND charges.
