Hi,

OP, I love how each of your posts looks like a little poem. It's adorable. I'm not even being sarcastic here. Honest.

As others have said 16GB is overkill. Pick up 8GB from newegg.com or macsales.com and install it yourself. It's pretty simple, and you can find directions online at ifixit.com.

Thank you. It is nice that you like it : ) !!!
The idea is to help you avoid reading from
left to right. Instead, you read left to
center. And perhaps, that it is easier for
some hier.

No, I may not be getting RAM so soon. I
just want to be well informed. So, when
the chance in the near future comes, I am
hopefully prepared to get the RAM.

Kind regards,

igmolinav : ) !!!

I researched this one pretty extensively, and ended up with 16GB for my MBP. Why? Reasons:

Final Cut Pro X

..and that's it :D. From what I've read, FCPx - especially under Lion - sucks the RAM like a V8 sucks gas. I'll be working with specifically 1080@24 footage, and after having lived with my first editing PC several years ago - a Dell Latitutude D620 with 1GB of RAM attempting to run Premiere Pro CS3 - I'll always max out everything on an editing machine.

So if you are using FCPx, and will be using it a lot, go with 16GB. Otherwise I'd stick with 8GB.

Hi,

Just installed 16gb on my 13MBP and loving it, maybe overkill but helps with VMs.

Bought for $130 at NewEgg

Could you please link us to the RAM product you bought ??

@bdinger - Yes, if I happen to go for the FCPx I may have to end up buying the extra RAM, the 16GB.

Thank you, kind regards,

igmolinav : ) !!!
