For me the problem is I don't want to offend the person who gifted me the 17pro 512Gby model + a few accessories !!!
It’s a bad situation, but the other person should be understanding of your preferences. If it was gifted to you unasked, they can’t expect you to put up with it when you don’t like it.

What I confuse right now is , should I give the 17 base to my wife and use that 14 days to trade in her 16 pro which use almost 2 years , and I went back 13 mini to my main phone , I ask her , just reply me that it’s no problem on her , is it downgrade for her if I really do it .

Small size and weight? What about a phone with the form factor and weight (88g) of the iPod touch ... needs some innovation to achieve that, but definitely do-able. Or health features (for example thermal IR face/body imaging for numerous conditions, including stress). Stereo photography?

Goodness, there are so many things that a device with the form factor of a phone could do!!! And I'm 100% sure there are plenty Apple engineers itching to do new stuff. But the accountants are in charge of the asylum ...

Small size and weight isn't innovation, It has been done and was deemed unsuccessful in today's world.

No, I mean SMALL and LIGHT.

12mini: 64x132x7.4mm, 135g
iPod touch: 59x123x6.1, 88g

Innovation needed, not just shaving down the size but a 35% reduction in weight as well. New materials, new battery technology and more.

I've posted this before, but the 12 mini was released in Nov '20. The 13 mini was released 10 months later. The iphone SE2 was released in April '20, and the SE3 was released in March '22. That's 4 small phones in just under 3 years. If you consider that small form factor phone users are far less likely to be power users or frequent upgraders, Apple just oversaturated the small iphone market, then declared all of them failures.

If they put out one small phone every 2 to 3 years, that one phone would sell really well.

I've had the same thoughts as you regarding the smaller iPhones. I had an iPhone 13 mini (loved it) before upgrading to 15 pro. Would love to see Apple put the Mini on a 2 to 3 year release cycle, would definitely get back on the mini train!
